19-Mar-98 Sorry for the long period since the last time. Today i measured the following thing:
pH °KH °GH NO3 mg/l NO2 mg/l
7,6 12 13 15 0
24-Feb-98 Today i had my water measured by a Dupla employe. Here is the results
pH °KH Fe NO3 mg/l NO2 mg/l PO4 mg/l CT mV
7,32 12 0 mg/l 30 0 1 753 micro siemens 150 mV
Here is what he said about it:
My PO4 mg/l was to high, I should change the water more often.
My NO3 mg/l was okay.
My NO2 mg/l was excellent, it was the second time that day he had seen that. (he had measured about 100 tanks)
Fe was to low, but that could be because I forgot to put in some fertilizer last week.
The pH was also a bit to high, but that was so high because of the KH.
18-Feb-98 Measured the pH and KH with liquid testers to compare the results to my aqua vital stick tester.
My Dupla pH tester was :7.3 pH
My Sera KH tester was: 8° KH
My aqua vital stick was:
pH °KH °GH NO3 mg/l NO2 mg/l
7,8 12 14 15 0
I am not sure which is correct the liquid tests or the stick. But personal opinion is, that the liquid tests are the better ones. Because the cemistry teacher at my school told me.

Great it looks like the effect of my Nitrate Remover bags is kicking in.
16-Feb-98 Today i bought 2 pairs of 'Ancistrus temmincki', so I know have 4 females and 2 males.
I also traded my 16 'Carnegiella strigata strigata' for 4 'Pantodon buchholzi'. Unfortunately one of them didn't survive the night over :-(
15-Feb-98 Measured the water and took a picture.
pH °KH °GH NO3 mg/l NO2 mg/l
7,6 12 14 25 0
12-Feb-98
pH °KH °GH NO3 mg/l NO2 mg/l
7,4 12 14 25 0
11-Feb-98 Inserted some 'Nitrate-Remover' into my filter.
08-Feb-98 My friend Allan took another picture, because I was on vacation.
01-Feb-98 Measured the water and took a picture.
pH °KH °GH NO3 mg/l NO2 mg/l
7.6 12 11 25 0
31-Jan-98 I changed around 25 gal of water, and also took out a middle piece of wood. Because I wanted to plant a Anubias on it, while I had it out I cleaned under water. And finally I saw my Kuhlii again :-)
28-Jan-98 I added 2 Epalzeorhynchus siamensis to my tank, for algae removal.
24-Jan-98 I changed 25 gal of water, and had to add some algae remove chemical (hate to use it), but after I change my light a week ago, I have a large algae problem :-(
Removed a few leaves with algae on
pH °KH °GH NO3 mg/l NO2 mg/l
7.2 12 11 25 0
18-Jan-98 I changed 25 gal of water, and made a minor adjusting to my CO2 amount a bit.
I also removed a lot of leaves with algae on.
pH °KH °GH NO3 mg/l NO2 mg/l
7.5 12 10 35 0
10-Jan-98 I changed 25 gal of water, and made a adjustment to my CO2 amount
pH °KH °GH NO3 mg/l NO2 mg/l
7.2 13 14 50 0
05-Jan-98 I changed 25 gal of water, and readjusted the CO2 completely
pH °KH °GH NO3 mg/l NO2 mg/l
7.6 14 13 50 0
02-Jan-98 I changed 25 gal of water.
Finally I got enough money to buy a complete CO2 with needle valve and a 2 kg bottle (should be enough for around 2 years)
pH °KH °GH NO3 mg/l NO2 mg/l
7.6 15 14 50 0
29-Dec-97 I changed 25 gal of water, and removed a few leaves with algae on
pH °KH °GH NO3 mg/l NO2 mg/l
7.6 15 14 50 0
01-Nov-97 I changed 25 gal of water, I am glad to have lowered the nitrate a bit. (but not enough)
pH °KH °GH NO3 mg/l NO2 mg/l
7.2 8 14 100 0
29-Oct-97 Used my new measure sticks for the first time.
And nearly got a heart attack from the HIGH nitrate value. So I did a 50% water change twice a week now.
pH °KH °GH NO3 mg/l NO2 mg/l
7.6 3 14 250 0
